Room 5m 44cm long and 3m 74cm broad is to be paved with square tiles. Find the least number of square tiles required to cover the floor.

Breadth of room = 74cm

Area of room. = length × breadth
= 44 × 74
= 3,256cm×cm.

Length of tile. = 5cm
Breadth of tile. = 3cm

Area of tile. = 5 × 3
= 15cm

Number of tiles = 3,256/15
required.
= 217.06.
