 (\sqrt{5}  -  \sqrt{2} )( \sqrt{5} +  \sqrt{2}  )

  = { \sqrt{5} }^{2}  -  { \sqrt{2} }^{2}

 = 5 - 2

 = 3

This question is solved using the identity (a-b)(a+b) = a^- b^
