their sum = 2 + √5 +2 - √5. = 4

and product = ( 2 + √5)+(2 - √5)

= 2² - 5 = 4 -5

= -1 so,

required quadratic equation is

x² - ( sum )x + product = 0

or,

x² - 4x + ( -1) = 0

or,

x² -4x -1 = 0.
