=> x - (3/x) = 2
=> (x² - 3)/x = 2
=> x² - 3 = 2x
=> x² - 2x - 3 = 0
=> x² - (3 - 1)x - 3 = 0
=> x² - 3x + x - 3 = 0
=> x(x - 3) + 1(x - 3) = 0
=> (x - 3) (x + 1) = 0
Therefore, by making the length and breadth equal to zero, we get :-
=> x = 3 and -1
Hope this helps.....
