Rose is 27 years older than her daughter. In ten years she will be twice as old as her daughter. How old are they now?

$x = y + 27\\and\\x + 10 = 2(y+10)\\x+10 = 2y + 20\\x = 2y + 10\\\\therefore from equation 1 and 2\\y +27=2y+10\\y= 17\\and\\ x = 17 + 27\\           x= 44$
