We can convert the given sentence into comparative degree like this-

Lotus is not more beautiful than Rose.

We cannot convert the given sentence into superlative degree because here the comparison is made between only two flowers.

According to the rule of English grammar when there is comparison between only two things, object or places the given sentence cannot be converted into superlative degree.

When there is comparison between only two objects and given sentence is in positive degree, while converting into comparative do the following changes-

  • First identify the object of the given sentence and begin the comparative degree sentence with the same.
  • We should identify whether the given sentences positive or negative.
  • Sentences positive we should make comparative sentence negative and if the given sentence is negative we should make comparative sentence positive.
  • Here the given sentences positive so we should make comparative sentence negative.
  • We should identify the tense of the given sentence and keep the tense same.
  • We should use comparative form of an adjective.
  • Instead of beautiful we should use more beautiful.
  • We should use than and then write subject of the given sentence after than.
