Q. On what factor does the inertia of a body depend which has more inertia a cricket ball or a rubber ball of the same size .

Answer:-

Inertia :- The tendency of an object to oppose motion and remains in its original position either in rest or motion is called inertia.

As we know inertia is the measure of mass.

The factor on which inertia depends is mass.

Mass :- The quantity of matter present in body is known as mass.

The body whose mass is greater having greater inertia in comparison of body having less mass.

Hence, we can say that :-

 I \propto M

The cricket ball has greater inertia in comparison to a rubber ball of same size because the cricket ball has greater mass than rubber ball.
