Case 1 :
After 40 % increase, the salary will be
= 100 + 40 % of 100
= 100 + 40
= Rs. 140

Salary after 40 % decrease
=140 - 40 % of 140
= 140 - 56
= Rs. 84
So, the total loss in Rs. = 100 - 84
= Rs. 16
Loss percentage = (16/100)*100
= 16 %
