Route should be used for triple jump
Answers
In the Triple Jump event, a competitor completes the event in a single, continuous sequence of movements or phases. The phases of a triple jump are ‘Hop’ phase, followed by the ‘step’ phase and completed by the ‘jump’ phase. Hence, it is also known as the ‘Hop-Step-Jump’.
Sprinting down a runway (at least 15 metres in length) for momentum, an athlete would take off in the ‘hop’ phase and land on leg, which is also used for take-off and step into the other foot, followed by the jump. The landing is into a sand pit. All actions are completed in one continuous sequence.
The triple jump or 'hop, stop and jump' can be broken down into three phases; the approach, take off, and the landing.
Started with the basic movements by having your athletes Hop, Step and then Jump from a standing start.
The take-off foot should be the athlete's strongest leg.
