Rowlatt Act also known as Black Act was

passed in 1919 by British government during

World War - I.

It was named after the Rowlatt Committee's

president Sir Sidney Rowlatt.

It aims of enforcing this act was to abolish

revolt and uproot conspiracy against the

British from India.
