Solution :

The actual price of the pair of chappals is Rs. 99.95 .

A sales tax at a rate of 7% of the price is levied against the chappals .

To find : Total amount paid on purchasing the chappals ;

Let us find the value of the sales tax first .

> 7% of [ Original Price ]

> 7% of 99.95

> 7/100 × 99.95

> 699.65/100

> Rs. 6.9965

≈ Rs. 7 .

Total SP of chappal becomes :

> Original Price + Sales Tax

> Rs. 99.95 + Rs. 7

> Rs. 106.95

≈ Rs. 107 .

This is the required answer .

Answer:

Given :-

  • Worth rupees of chappal = 99.95
  • Sales tax = 7%

To Find :-

Amount paid

Solution :-

At first we will find sales tax

Sales tax = Sales tax% × Worth rupees

 \begin{gathered} \sf Sales \:  tax = 7\% \times 99.95 \\  \sf \: Sales  \: tax =  \frac{7}{100}  \times 99.95 \\ \sf 6.95 \\ \sf \approx 7 \end{gathered}

Total SP = 99.95 + 7

Total SP = 106.95 ≈ 107
