Hello,
Let the number of children be n.
so, money received by each child is :
Rs=250/n
According to the question, if there were 25 more children, each would have received 50 paise less.
Then:
(n+250)(250/n-0.5)=250;
250-1/2n+6250/n-25/2=250;
n²+25n-12500=0;
(n+125)(n-100)=0
n+125=0 or n-100=0;
n=-125 or n=100
As the number of children can not be negative, therefore, number of children, is:
n=100
bye :-)
