Given :-

  • 720 was distributed among Ram, Shyam, Jadu and Madhu .
  • If Ram would receive Rs.5 less.
  • Jadu would receive 5 times of his money.
  • Madhu would receive 1/5 th of his money, they would receive equal money.

To Find :-

  • How much money did each of them receive ?

Solution :-

Let us Assume that, initial Ram, Shyam, Jadu and Madhu received Rs. R,S,J and M respectively.

Than, After :-

→ Shyam intital = Ram receive Rs.5 Less = Jadu receive 5 times = (1/5) of Madhu receive .

→ S = (R - 5) = 5 * J = (M/5)

Let us assume that, value of this new receiving is k. { where k is any constant number. }

Than,

→ S = (R - 5) = 5 * J = (M/5) = k

or,

→ S = k

→ R = k + 5

→ J = (k/5)

→ M = 5k

Therefore,

→ S + R + J + M = 720

→ k + (k + 5) + (k/5) + 5k = 720

→ 2k + 5 + 5k + (k/5) = 720

→ 7k + (k/5) = 720 - 5

→ (35k + k) / 5 = 715

→ 36k = 715 * 5

→ k = 99.31

Hence,

→ S = k = 99.31 (Ans.)

→ R = k + 5 = 99.31 + 5 = 104.31 (Ans.)

→ J = k/5 = (99.31/5) = 19.86 (Ans.)

→ M = 5k = 5*99.31 = 496.55 (Ans.)
