Answer:

invested for 6 Years = 4750 Rs

invested for 2 years = 2450 Rs

Step-by-step explanation:

Rs. 7200 was invested partly in scheme a for 6 years and partly in scheme b for 2 years.

Let say invested in 6 years  Scheme  =  100A   Rs

& invested in Scheme for 2 years = 7200 - 100A  = 100(72-A)   Rs

Rate of interest = 12 % per annum

Interest from 6 Years = 100A * 12 * 6 /100  = 72A    Rs

Interest from 2 Years =  100(72 - A) * 12 * 2 /100 =  24(72 - A)    Rs

Total Interest = 72A + 24(72 - A)   Rs

72A + 24(72 - A)  = 4008

Diving by 24

=> 3A  + (72 - A) = 167

=> 2A = 95

=> A = 47.5

100A = 4750

invested for 6 Years = 4750 Rs

invested for 2 years = 7200 - 4750 = 2450 Rs
