The amount is ₹5000

Given data :

Principal amount = ₹ 8000

Interest + principal amount = ₹ 10000

Time = 2 years

So,

Interest = (10000-8000) = ₹2000

Now,

Interest = (principal amount × rate × time) /100

2000 = (8000×rate×2)/100

2000 = rate × 160

rate = 2000/160

rate = 12.5 %

Now,for the second case

Principal amount + Interest = ₹ 6875

Time = 3 years

Rate = 12.5%

Let, the principal amount = ₹ x

So, interest = (6875-x)

Now,

6875-x = (x×12.5×3)/100

6875-x = 37.5x/100

687500 - 100 x = 37.5x

687500 = 137.5 x

137.5 x = 687500

x = 5000

So,the amount is ₹5000 (answer)
