So first of all let us assume No.of boys =x

Obviously, No of girls = 60-x

Each boy gave rupees as the number of girls i.e each boys gave 60-x

rupees… so in total x boys gave = x(60-x) rupees

Similarly, 60-x girls gave = [60-x](x) rupees

Summing them we get x(60-x) +[60-x](x) rupees that equals =2600

That is

x(60-x) +[60-x](x) =2600

2*x(60-x)=2600

x(60-x)=1300

60x - x^2 = 1300

x^2–60x+1300=0

x= -30+20i

x=-30-20i
