Given :-

  • Mass (m) = 5 ton
  • Velocity (v) = 144 km/hr

To Find :-

  • The kinetic energy possessed by it.

Solution :-

First ton convert into kg.

⟶ Mass = 5 ton

⟶ Mass = 5 × 1000

⟶ Mass (m) = 5000 kg

Now km/hr convert into m/s.

⟶ Velocity = 144 km/hr

⟶ Velocity = 144 × 5/18

⟶ Velocity = 8 × 5

⟶ Velocity (v) = 40 m/s

As we know that,

\blue{\bold{K.E = \frac{1}{2} mv^2}} \red\bigstar

Here,

  • K.E = Kinetic energy
  • m = Mass
  • v = Velocity

Units,

  • K.E = Joule, J
  • m = kilogram, kg
  • v = m/s

[ Substitute the values in the formula ]

⟶ K.E = ¹/2 × 5000 × (40)²

⟶ K.E = 2500 × 1600

K.E = 4000000 J \green\bigstar

Therefore,

The kinetic energy possessed by it is 4000000 Joules.

\blue\bigstarGiven:-

•Mass (m)=5 ton

•Velocity(v)=144km/hr

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

\pink\bigstar To Find out :-

•Kinetic energy (K.E) possessed by Truck

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

\red\bigstar Unit conversion:-

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Converting mass into kg form tones

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

We know that 1 ton =1000kg

5 ton =5×1000 kg

Mass=5000 kg

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Converting velocity into m/s from km/hr

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Velocity(v) =144km/hr

Velocity(v)=144×5/18 m/s

Velocity(v)=8×5=40m/s

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

\green\bigstarCalculation:-

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⇛We know that K.E=1/2 mv²

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ =1/2×5000×40×40 J

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ =2500×1600 J

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ =4000000J

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Therefore , Kinetic energy possessed by truck is 4000000 J ★
