CASE 1:

Speed = 40 km / hr

time taken = 41/ 2 hr = 9/2 hr

distance travelled = speed * time

= 40 * 9/ 2

= 180 km

CASE 2:

Distance = 180 km

Speed = 45 km/ hr

Time taken = distance / speed

= 180 / 45

= 4 hrs

Bus is traveling at an average speed of 40 km h^1(Take as v)

Total time taken is 4 1/2 hours (Take as t)

Total distance = v X t

=40 X 4 1/2

=40X9/2

=180km

STEP BY STEP EXPLANATION :

So,we know that speed = distance / time,

but we have to find time.

So,time=distance/speed

t= 180 / 45

t=4 hours
