20 paise coins. The number of 25 paise coins is

double the number of 20 paise coins but half the

number of 50 paise coins. Find the number of

coins of each type

Let the number of 50 paise coins,25 paise coins and 20 paise coins be x ,y and z respectively.

Given

50x+25y+20z=2700 ..(1)

y=2z ...(2)

y=x/2

So, x/2 =2z

So x = 4z ...(3)

From (1),(2) and (3)

50(4z)+25(2z)+20z=2700

200z+50z+20z=2700

270z=2700

z=10

So from (2), y=2z= 20

From (3), x=4z=40

So; x=40, y=20, z=10
