Answer:

There are 2 methods... But I am comfortable with this method:

Let the three friends be x, y and z.

The second gets twice the amount of the first friend. Thus,

y=2x..........................(1)

The Third friend gets exactly half of the total amount of the first two friends.

Thus, z=(x+y)/2.

We know that y=2x. Substitute this in (1).

z=(x+2x)/2

z=3x/2

Now, we know that 9000 is distributed among 3 friends.

Thus, x+y+z=9000.................(2)

We know that y=2x. Substitute this in (2).

We also know that z=3x/2. Substitute in (2).

x+2x+(3x/2)=9000

3x+3x/2=9000

9x/2=9000

x=(9000×2)/9

x=2000 Rs.

Now, y=2x.

Substitute the value of x.

y=2×2000

y=4000 Rs.

Now, z=3x/2

Substitute the value of x.

z=3×2000/2

z=3000 Rs.

Thus, the three friends get 2000Rs., 4000Rs., 3000Rs.

HOPE THIS HELPS :D
