The heart pumps blood only through arteries with a great pressure. if any of your main artery near by heart gets ruptured during surgery, the blood pressure would be so enormous that it can drain all your blood in the body in a time of few minutes. along with that, the pressure will be so forceful that it would pump your blood upto the ceiling of the roof.
