rusting of iron is a chemical change where (Fe) that is iron reacts with oxygen and water in the atmosphere the equations can be given as Fe + O2 + H2O = FFe2O3.10H2O

Answer:

The rusting of iron is a chemical change because it is two substances reacting together to make a new substance. When iron rusts, iron molecules react with oxygen molecules to make a compound called iron oxide. Rusting would only be a physical change if iron molecules remained pure iron throughout the processs For Example, when the iron is exposed to air and moisture, rust formation takes place. Rust is nothing but Iron Oxide; a new substance formed out of the reaction. The colour of the surface of the iron also changes. Hence, rusting of iron is a chemical change.
