Then the iron nail loses its structure and becomes corrode. this process is known as rusting. rusting is a chemical reaction becoz we all know that chemical reactions are those reaction in which a new substance is formed and from the obtained substance we cannot make the initial substance. in rusting,

the new substance formed= rust

and we also cannot make the iron nail from rust.
