Answer:

10 weeks

Step-by-step explanation:

With the information given we can make an equation of 150+10x=200+5x

First you want to Isolate the variable which can be done by getting the smaller number with a variable, which is 5x and zero it out by flipping it and doing the same to the other side and now you get 150+5x=200

Seond you want to get the variable by itself which can be done by  getting the number that isnt  next to the variable  and zero it out and do the same to the other side of the equation.

Now you have  5x=50

Last step you divide 50 by five and get 10, so x=10

Given:

Number of baseball cards Ryan has =150

Ryan collects 10 cards per week.

Number of baseball cards Sarah has=200

Sarah collects 5 cards per week.

To find:

In how many weeks will Ryan and Sarah have the same number of cards.

Solution:

Assume that, x is the number of weeks required to have equal number of cards.

Form an equation from the given condition in the question.

150+10x=200+5x

\[\begin{array}{l} \Rightarrow 10x - 5x = 200 - 150\\ \Rightarrow 5x = 50\\ \Rightarrow x = \frac{{50}}{5}\\ \Rightarrow x = 10\end{array}\]

Hence, the number of weeks required for Ryan and Sarah to have equal number of cards is 10.
