s = 5 - 7t +6t^2

ds/dt = 0 - 7 + 12t

ds/dt = 12t - 7

Now by putting the value of time at a particular instant we can calculate the velocity.

For initial velocity time = 0

ds/dt = 12 × 0 - 7

u = -7 m/s
