Step-by-step explanation:

let total no. of shells S have = x

S gave to Q= 1/3 of x +11

= x/3 + 11

Q gave to p= {1/3 of x/3+14} + 11

=(x + 42)/9 + 11

P gave to R= 1/3 of{ (x + 42)/9 + 11} + 1

= (x + 141 )/27 + 1

=( x + 168)/27

also given R has 14 shells , which means

(x+168)/27 = 14

solving this,we get

x= 210

S had originally 210 shells
