GIVEN

  • Mass (m) ➡ 200g
  • Velocity (v) ➡ 5 m/s

TO FIND

  • Momentum (p)

Formula Used :-

 \boxed { \sf Momentum (p) = mass(m) \times velocity (v) }

Substituting Values

☞ p ➡ 200 × 5

☞ p ➡ 1000 g

Therefore, we got Momentum 1000 g m/s ➠ 1 kg m/s

It is dangerous to move out of a moving bus because the jumping man , who is moving with the high speed bus , when he moved out of the bus he will remain in motion and can be hamrmed by jumping out of a moving bus

So, we should not jump off a Moving bus.

Question 1)

  • ᴄalculate the Momentum ᴏғ a toy car of mass 200 g moving with the speed of 5m/s.

Given :

  • Mass = 200 g
  • Speed = 5m/s
  • momentum = ?

we know that,

 \underline{ \boxed{ \mathsf{Momentum (p) = mass(m)  \times velocity(v)}}}

  • Converting 200 g into kg

⟹ 1 g = 1/1000 kg

⟹ 200 g = 200/1000 kg

⟹ 200 g = 2/10

⟹ 200 g = 0.2 kg

⟶ Momentum (p) = 0.2 × 5

⟶ Momentum = 1 kg m/s

So,

Momentum of toy car is 1kg m/s.

Question 2)

  • Calculate the momentum of an elephant of mass 200kg moving with the speed of 5m/s.

Given :

  • Mass = 200kg
  • speed = 5m/s
  • momentum = ?

  • Momentum = mass × velocity

⟶ p = 200 × 5

⟶ p = 1000 kg m/s

So,

Momentum of elephant is 1000 kg m/s .

Question 3)

  • Explain why it is dangerous to move out of a moving bus.

Answer :

It is dangerous to jump out of a moving bus becaus the bus is moving with high speed and If the person moves from the moving bus then , would tend to remain in motion even on falling to the ground and get hurt due to the resitance offered by ground.
