Normal platelet count is 150,000-300,000/ mm3

Tiny disc-shaped cells that help regulate blood flow when any part of the body is damaged, thereby aiding in fast recovery through clotting of blood.

Where are they present ?

Platelets are made in your bone marrow along with your white and red blood cells. Your bone marrow is the spongy center inside your bones.

Function of Platelets :-

Its main function is to clot the blood bleeding from wounded area like in our hand , palm , leg , neck , elbow , knee .

When blood bleeds , the platelets helps in stopping the bleeding of blood and then clots so that blood doesn't bleed again .

And if we touch the wounded area and disturb it again , then the blood may bleed again and the wound would become serious to get well
