Question

Diagonals of a rhombus are 20 and 21 cm respectively, then find the sides of rhombus and its perimeter.

Solution

Given :-

  • Diagonals of a rhombus are 20 and 21 cm respectively.

To Find :-

  • The sides and perimeter of rhombus.

Step-by-Step-Explaination :-

As we know that :-

Diagonals of the rhombus bisect each other at 90°.

By using Pythagoras theorem :-

Side² = 10² + 10.5²

Side² = 100 + 100.25

Side² = 210.25

Side = 14.5

Hence,

The side of rhombus is 14.5 cm

Now,

As we know that :-

Perimeter of rhombus = 4 × sides

Putting the respective value,

Perimeter of rectangle = 4 × 14.5

Perimeter of rectangle = 58

Hence,

The perimeter of rectangle = 58 cm
