 {s}^{2}  + {t}^{2}  - 2st = 49

 {s}^{2}  +  {t}^{2}  = 49 + 2st

but given that s×t = 9

 {s}^{2}  +  {t}^{2}  = 49 + 2(9)

 {s}^{2}  +  {t}^{2}  = 49 + 18

 {s}^{2}  +  {t}^{2}  = 67
