Given:-
- Distance travelled by train 'A' (d₁) = 120km
- Time taken (t₁) = 3hrs
- Distance travelled by train'B' (d₂) = 180km
- Time taken (t₂) = 4hrs
To Find:-
- Which train travelled faster .
Solution:-
- As we know that
- → Speed = Distance/Time
- Speed For train 'A'
- → S = d/t
- → S₁ = d₁/t₁
Substitute the value we get
- → S₁ = 120/3
- → S₁ = 40km/h --------------------(i)
∴ The speed of train 'A' is 40km/h
Now ,
- Speed For Train 'B'
- → S₂ = d₂/t₂
- → S₂ = 180/4
- → S₂ = 45km/h -------------------------(ii)
- ∴ The speed of train 'B' is 45km/h
Comparing equation (i) & (ii) we get
- The speed of train'B' is higher than the speed of train 'A'
∴ The Train 'B' travelled faster
