The value of p is 1/3.

S(x) = p x² + (p-2)x + 2

substitute x=2 in S(x)

s(x) = p(2)²+ (p-2)2 + 2

= 4p +2p -4 + 2

= 6p - 2

2 = 6p

2/6 = p

p = 1/3
