Answer:−

Inertia:-

Inertia is the resistance of the object to any change in its motion, including a change in direction. An object will stay still or keep moving at the same speed and in a straight line, unless it is acted upon by an external unbalanced force.

Three types of inertia:-

(a) Inertia of Rest:

The inability of a body to change by itself its state of rest is known as Inertia of Rest. Examples: (i) Person sitting in a car falls backwards, when the car suddenly starts.

(b) inertia of motion :

(a) A person trying to get down from a running bus falls forward. ... The fruits fall off due to the inertia of motion along the direction of wind. (d) The swirling of milk in a glass continues even after the stirring is stopped.

(c) inertia of direction :

The inability of a body to change by itself its direction of motion is called Inertia of direction. Examples of inertia of direction: i) A dog chases a hare, the hare runs along a zig-zag path.

hope it helps you..
