The given figure is a trapezium

So,

Area of shaded portion = Area of trapezium - (area of rectangle + area of circle)

=> [½ × (sum of parallel sides) × (height)] - [ (length × breadth) + πr²

=> [ ½ × (DC + AB) × AE ] - [ (40×20) + (3.14 × 7²) ]

=> [ ½ × (160 + 120) × 100 ] - (953.86)

=> 14000 - 953.86

= 13046.14

Therefore, area of shaded region is 13,046.14
