For a number to be divisible by 36-
First it should be divisible by 9
second it should be divisible by 4 (as 36 = 9*4)
for a number to be divisible by 4 the last two digits of the no must be divisible by 4- IE S0 must be divisible by 4. we can see only 4 or 8 work (just remember this fact for now )
now for a number to be divisible by 9 the sum of digits must add up to a multiple of 9 eg- 36—-> 3+6 = 9 therefore divisible
so S+4+3+4+S+0 must be divisible by 9. We get a 11+2S .
Now remember fact 1 - the only possibilities are 8 and 4 and if we try them out we see that only 8 works! (11+2*4=19, 11+ 2*8 =27)
this is a very simple way of solving the problem with very basic divisibility rules, there are must much faster ways than this that could also be used
