Answer:

Emotion, speech and morally guided action are three important aspects of life. Not surprisingly all religions have teachings pertaining to these aspects. Though the teachings are old, they are relevant even today. In fact, they are more relevant today than ever before, since it is the age of the internet and social media, when interaction and communication takes place at a global level.

The most positive emotion is that of love. All religions touch upon the love of God and love for humanity in general. Love is what infuses sweetness in relationships. It is an essential part of our family structure. It brings out the best in individuals and makes them selfless and helping. Love also implies empathy and compassion towards those less fortunate than us.

Centuries ago Gautam Buddha recommended choosing our words with care. In  today's stressful times, it is more than essential to  watch our words. Harsh words are both hurtful and can complicate matters unnecessarily. The Bible states that gentle speech can ‘turn away wrath’. The focus should be on  peaceful coexistence and not on inciting  aggression or violence. Also words once spoken cannot be undone even if the speaker regrets having uttered them.

Man is a thinking being and hence has established some guidelines to live rightly.  These guidelines are universally applicable and are upheld by all cultures across the world. With so much cross-cultural exchange taking place, the west has also adopted the concept of ‘karma’, or ‘reap as you sow’. Some of these principles include not being deceitful, not harming anyone, doing what is right, working hard and so on. These moral principles are important to maintain a civilized world.

All these aspects- love, speech and morality are covered by all major religions, which indicates just how important they are to mankind.
