sa monkey of mass 20 kg is holding a vertical rope the rope iswill not break when a mass of 25 kg is suspended from it but will break if the amass exceeds 25 kg what is the maximum acceleration with which the monkey can climb up along the rope (g=10)

SOLUTION.

Maximum weight that can be hold by the rope = 25kg. But in case of maximum acceleration this limit can work as tension.

Tension in the rope = T = 250N

Maximum acceleration = a

weight = 200N (mg)

To solve these type of question we can apply Newton's law of motion which stated as follow...

"THE ACCELERATION BY WHICH A BODY OF MASS M MOVES IS DIRECTLY PROPORTIONAL TO FORCE APPLIED"

This is not the correct form of Newton's laws of motion.

Apply NLM....

T - mg = ma

put values here

250 - 200 = 20a

50 = 20a

a= 2.5m/sec²
