संस्कृत भाषा में कहानी–साधूनां जीवनम्
गङ्गातीरे एकः साधुः आसीत्। सः बहु उपकारं करोति स्म। यः अपकारं करोति तस्यापि उपकारं करोति स्म। एकस्मिन् दिने सः गङ्गानद्यां सनानं कर्तुं नदीं गतवान्। नदीप्रवाहे एकः वृश्चिकः आगतः। साधुः वृश्चिकं दृष्टवान्। तं हस्तेन गृहीतवान्। तीरे स्थापयितुं प्रयत्नं कृतवान्। किन्तु सः साधोः हस्तम् अदशत्। साधुः तं त्यक्तवान्। वृश्चिकः जले अपतत्। पुनः साधुः वृश्चिकं गृहीत्वा तीरे स्थापयितुं प्रयत्नं कृतवान्। पुनः वृश्चिकः हस्तम् अदशत्। एवम् अनेकवारं साधुः वृश्चिकं गृहीतवान्। वृश्चिक- अपि अदशत्।
नदीतीरे एकः पुरुषः आसीत्।
सः उक्तवान्

साधुमहाराज। अयं वृश्चिकः दुष्टः। सः पुनः पुनः दशति। भवान् किमर्थं तं हस्ते वृथा स्थापयति। वृश्चिकं त्यजतु।
साधुः उक्तवान्
वृश्चिकः क्षुद्रः जन्तुः। दंशनं तस्य स्वभावः। सः स्वस्य स्वभावं न त्यजति। अहं तु मनुष्यः। अहं मम परोपकास्वभावं कथं त्यजामि।
यः अपकारिणाम् अपि उपकारं करोति सः एव साधुः भवति।

near river ganga there was a monk. he was very kind. he used to do nice even to the people who did his bad. one day he went to take bath in river ganga. with the river flow one scorpion came. the monk saw the scorpion and brought it at home. and tried to keep it at a place but the scorpion bited him. he again and again broght the scorpion and the scorpion bited him again and again. then there was a man near the shores of river ganga he asaked him why are you bringing him back again and again when it is biting you again and again, leave him. then the monk said that his nature is of biting and my nature is of helping when he when leave his nature so why shall i. the person who does good to his enemy is known as monk.
