There are major 4 types they are

1. Fascism (no elections till death of ruler or exile of ruler)

2. Communism  (no elections till death of ruler or exile of ruler)

3. Democracy (election conducted in fixed time period)

4. Monarchy (no election conducted ward of king becomes king or queen)

They all have subtypes but these are main ones.

Best example of Communism is Peoples republic of china or PRC in short

Best example of democracy are USA, India, France, Canada, Scandinavian countries, etc

Best example of monarch in current time is Saudi Arabia
