If 10% discount then the price = x-x*10%
=x-x/10
=9x/10
now including 8% tax
The price would be =9x/10 +9x/10 ×8%
=9x/10+72x/1000
=972x/1000
Now according to question
972x/1000 =1458
or, x=1458×1000/972
or, x=1500
