Given :  Sachin, Saurav and Sehwag started running on a circular track of length  2400 m at the same time from the same point with constant speeds 45  km/hr, 15 km/hr and 35 km/hr respectively. While, Sachin and Sehwag

are running in same direction, Saurav is running in the opposite  direction.

To Find : How many complete rounds have Sehwag covered while they

meet for the 1st time

Solution:

Track length = 2400 m = 2.4 km

Sachin speed = 45 km/hr

Sehwag speed  = 35 km/hr

Relative speed  = 10 km/hr

Time After which they meet  =  ( 2.4/10) = 0.24 hr  = 14.4 mins

Sachin 45 km /hr

Saurav 15 km /hr  in oppsite direction

Meet after = (2.4/(45 + 15))  = 2.4  min

Sehwag 35 km /hr

Saurav 15 km /hr  in oppsite direction

Meet after = (2.4/(35 + 15))  = 2.88  min

LCM of  2.4  , 2.88  & 14.44

= 14.4   mins

Distance covered by Sehwag =  35 * 14.4/60  = 8.4 km

8.4/2.4  =  3.5

Hence 3 complete  round covered by Sehwag
