Sachin,Simon and Dhanush scored 152 runs in a T -20 match.Their scores are in a continued proportion.Simon and Dhanush together scored 8 runs more than Sachin.Find their individual scores???

Swarup1998: Let, Sachin, Simon and Dhanush scored a, b and c runs respectively.
Then, a + b + c = 152 .....(1)
(a/b)=(b/c) .....(2)
b + c = a + 8 .....(3)
From (1), we get -
2a + 8 = 152, by (3)
=> a = 72.
From (2),
(b^2) = 72.c
From (3),
b + (b^2)/72 = 80
=> (b^2) + 72b - 5760 = 0
=> b = 48 (we neglect the negative value.)
So, c = 32.

Sachin = 72
Simon = 48
Dhanush = 32.
