Let the runs scored by Rahul be "x" and that by Sachin be "2x"

When they played together , their score together was two less than double century. Double century = 200 score.

Hence , they together scored two less [ 200 -2  = 198] than double century :-

x + 2x = 198

3x = 198

x = 66

===========================

Runs scored by Rahul = x = 66
Runs scored by Sachin = 2x = 132

tanishqjadiya1: there is triple century not double.

CORRECT QUESTION :-

  • Sachin scored twice as many runs as Rahul. Together, their runs fell ninety runs short of a triple century. What is Sachin's score ?

GIVEN :-

  • runs of sachin is twice runs of rahul

  • if we add both runs than it's 90 less than 300

TO FIND :-

  • runs that Sachin scored

SOLUTION :-

\rm{let \: runs \: of \: rahul \: be \: x}

\rm{so\: runs \: of \: sachin \: will \: be \: 2x}

\rm{ \bf \: now \: according \: to \: condition \: }

\implies \rm{x + 2x = 300 - 90}

\implies \rm{3x= 300 - 90}

\implies \rm{3x= 210}

\implies \rm{x= \dfrac{210}{3} }

\implies \boxed{\rm{ \: x= 70}}

hence ,

\implies \rm{runs \: of \: rahul=x}

\implies \rm{ \bf \: runs \: of \: rahul=70}

\implies \rm{runs \: of \: sachin=2x}

\implies \rm{ \bf \: runs \: of \: sachin=140}
