Vocation, from the Latin vocare, to call.

The Sacraments of vocation are Matrimony and Holy Orders. Each of these sacraments provides grace to live out a particular callingin one’s life to give one’s life totally to the service of spouse and children (natural in one case, supernatural in the other).

While the Sacraments of initiation are geared toward the growth of the soul in grace and the Sacraments of healing are geared towards the maintenance of the relationship with God (and then the community). The Sacraments of Vocation are for the building up of the community first, and through cooperation with the divine plan, then serve as a path of holiness.

In addition to the sacraments of vocation, there are sacramentals related to the vocation to religious life: most notably the vows or promises and the habit.

hope it helps
