sagar bought 30 tickets in all of which some cost rs 15 and the rest cost rs 20. if the total cost of the tickets was rs 540, how many tickets of rs 20 were bought?

and 20ra ticket be y
ATQ
x+y=30....(1)

case 2
15x+20y=540 .....(2)
dividing whole equation by 3 we get
3x+4y=108

by elemination method
x+y=30.. X3

3x+4y=108
-3x-3y=-90

0+y= 18

x= 30-18 , x=12
y=18

as per 1st condition,
x +y =30........(1)
as per 2nd condition,
15x +20y= 540......(2)
solving equation (1) and (2) simultaneously we get
x + y = 30
15x +20y=540
we get y= 18
therefore, the number of Rs20 tickets is 18.
