This question is based on the chapter 'Lost Spring' by Anees Jung.

Saheb was a poor rag-picker who enjoyed his freedom by roaming around and collecting rags from the place of his choice. However, his job at the tea stall robbed him of his liberty and freedom. Though the owner of the stall paid him 800 rupees per month along with meals, Saheb could no longer live his life according to his own wishes.

The light plastic bag on Saheb's shoulder was replaced by his master's tin canister which carried the huge burden of his responsibilities as an employee. Thus, Saheb was no longer his own master.
