Saheb meant the lord of the universe. But in stark contrast to the meaning of his name, Saheb was a poverty stricken boy. Garbage for them was gold because sometimes he found one or two coins there. He did not even have the basic requirements fulfilled. As he was a rag picker’ he used to roam barefoot. Far from being a lord of the universe, he didn’t even have a proper identity. Even after such extreme circumstances that Saheb has to live in every day, he always wished to be the master of his own self and destiny. He was a carefree boy who never liked being bothered by anyone else, or even told what to do.
As time gradually passed by, Saheb was employed in a tea stall. It was a job which he did not like at all because it snatched away his last bit of freedom.

Answer :
In the chapter 'Lost Spring' by Anees Jung, Saheb was a poor rag-picker who was the master of his own destiny. He picked up rags from the place of his choice and roamed around according to his own wishes. He enjoyed the freedom and liberty that he enjoyed as a rag-picker. He got great delight from finding coins from the garbage and harbored dreams of becoming rich one day.
