bharat7193: let me give the answer here itself it is basically due to the above layer of water only freezes in the ocean and as going down solubilty also increases and thus oxygen too increases therefore all aquatic animals move down to survive in that harsh climate

there is a quality in all the organisms that, they adapt themselves according to the nature around them.....
example- cactus in desert
polar bear in cold weather
etc
all animals adapt according to there nature around them..
and this is with the aquatic animals too.
they had adapted them to that surrounding...
