sajathi is when the ottakshara is put to the same letter consonant.

Eg- Amma, Appa (the consonant is 'm' then ottakshara is 'm'; the consonant is 'p' then ottakshara is 'p')

vijathi is when the ottakshara is put to a different letter than to which it usually belongs

Eg- Maatra (the consonant is 't' but the ottakshara 'r')
