Let the ratio of Amit and Akhil's salary be x:y

Since, the ratio of their salaries are in the ratio 3:5.

x:y = 3:5

\frac{x}{y}=\frac{3}{5}

5x = 3y

x=\frac{3y}{5}            (Equation 1)

Since, the salary is increased by Rs 7000 then the new ratio becomes 11:16.

\frac{x+7000}{y+7000}=\frac{11}{16}

16(x+7000) = 11(y+7000)

16x + 112000 = 11y+77000

16x - 11y = 77000 - 112000

16x - 11y = -35000   (Equation 2)

Substituting the value of x from equation 1 in equation 2.

16(\frac{3y}{5})-11y = -35000

(\frac{48y}{5})-11y = -35000

\frac{48y-55y}{5} = -35000

{48y-55y} = -35000 \times 5

-7y = -175000

y = 25000

New salary of Akhil = 25000+7000 = Rs 32000

Hence, the salary of Akhil is Rs 32,000.
